Have you ever known somebody who is a rock? Solid, dependable, unflappable and always there. That's Jennifer. In addition to working at both the Northport and Smithtown offices, she works with emotionally disturbed teens and developmentally disabled adults. When she's got free time, she is at the gym either kickboxing or cardio/weight training. When she's got free time and is at home, she likes watching Investigation Discovery and Netflix. She currently lives in Lake Grove but aspires to have a Voodoo shop on Bourbon Street in New Orleans (although we not-so-secretly hope that is far, far into the future). Her favorite thing about our office is meeting new patients and sharing in the process and excitement of transforming a smile. She feels that support, encouragement and education are all important to obtain a great result. Her favorite holidays are Thanksgiving, Halloween and Christmas, in that order, because she loves to eat, loves creepy things and loves spending time with her family.
Dayna is newly engaged! She lives in Selden with her fiancé, Ricky, and their two dogs Kash and Keno. Dayna loves to be involved in the creative endeavors of the office and is often the sole designer of the chalkboard. She is naturally artistic and graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology with a degree in Visual Presentation and Exhibition Design (hence the chalkboard!). She loves to build relationships with our patients and to be able to share in their successes. Dayna is very health minded and will often share recipes for healthy meals, especially anything with a Mexican twist. Dayna's healthy attitude extends to sports. She played softball and volleyball in high school. She comes from a family of die hard Yankee fans and watches baseball, football and hockey with her close knit family (she is one of four children). In her spare time, she enjoys reading fashion magazines, watching movies and now, wedding planning! Her two favorite seasons are Summer because she enjoys going to the beach and listening to the soothing sounds of the waves and Autumn so she can attend Fall festivals and eat roasted corn!
Dr. Jonathan Panichella (Dr. Jon as he likes to be called) grew up in Northport. He received his Bachelors degree from Fordham University (where he also met his beautiful wife- Dr. Dani). He went on to SUNY Stony Brook where he completed his DDS degree. He performed a hospital residency at the Northport Veteran's Administration Medical Center/Stony Brook University Hospital. He then completed two specialty degrees at Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery - one in Orthodontics and one in Periodontics. This makes Dr. Jon uniquely able to treat not only children but adult patients who want straight teeth but may have concerns regarding periodontal (Gum) disease.
Dr. Danielle Panichella (Dr. Dani) grew up in West Nyack, New York. She also attended Fordham University (where she met and fell in love with Dr. Jon). Her dental training was completed at SUNY Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine and she completed a hospital residency at the Bronx, New York Veteran's Administration Medical Center. Her Orthodontic Specialty training was performed at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx. Dr. Dani was bestowed the honor of serving as chief resident at Montefiore in her final year. Her thesis on Orthognathic Surgery was published in the Journal of Adult Orthodontics and Orthognathic Surgery.
Angie was born and raised in Medellin, Columbia. Angie is very passionate about everything she does (for Modern Family fans, think Gloria). She graduated with a Hygiene degree from New York University in 2004. She is enthusiastic about working with our patients and motivating them to get the very best result. Angie has the ability to connect with our younger patients to ease their apprehensions and relate with our adult patients to ensure their comfort. She loves football, her favorite teams being the Alfred University Saxons, where her son Danny plays center and right guard #64, and the New York Giants. Her favorite colors are black and blue, except if it's a result of kickboxing and she loves sunflowers because they make her smile. Even though her favorite food is Italian, she is a master at making Spanish lentils and beans ~ her recipe is a closely guarded secret and every time we ask for the recipe, she brings it to us for lunch instead! Angie enjoys Manhattan for all of the culture it has to offer and will often attend shows on Broadway or Opera at the Met. She is the only daughter of three children and loves visiting her baby brother in Manhattan. She is at home in Huntington with her pug Oliver and her Boston Terrier Lulu.
Kelly is one of our born-and-bred Long Island girls. She loves Long Island beaches and photographing the beaches is one of her favorite hobbies. Kelly is our fiery red-headed “doer” because she gets things done. She keeps the clinical area of our office stocked and running smoothly and efficiently. One of her favorite things about being an orthodontic assistant is taking an active role in creating beautiful smiles. She fondly remembers the removal of her own braces and her transformation into her beautiful smile. When Kelly is not in the office she enjoys her proximity to New York City and often spends weekends visiting her favorite art galleries and museums with her boyfriend Lance. She has pioneered aerobic cleaning -that is cleaning while dancing and listening to loud music. She is an avid hockey and football fan, her favorite teams being the New York Rangers and the New York Giants. She can be found on weekends spending time with her family and star gazing.
Kelley hails from Centereach, NY and although she loves Long Island, she also loves to explore new places and embark on road trip adventures. She is recently married to the love-of-her-life, Louis and is embracing the new challenges of married life. One of them being swallowed up by a much bigger family (Louis has 4 brothers and sisters!). Kelley is also the very proud aunt to two beautiful girls Sophia and Daniella. Kelley will greet you with a smile and her sparkly personality can never be dulled. She loves being involved in patient care, especially seeing the final results. She will ensure that you always have the appointment that you need (even if she has to “squeeze” you in) and will relentlessly champion for your insurance benefits. When she is not in the office, she enjoys cooking, especially anything with a Mexican flair (~but really, she’d rather be taken out to dinner so she doesn’t have to cook and clean the dishes). If you call after hours, you may wait a few rings before she picks up the phone because she’s got Beyonce blasting in the background.
